About the Photographer:
Laren Woolley, Newport, Oregon
If you ask Laren, "What is the best thing in your life?" he will say "My Family!" But a love for nature's beauty and for attempting to capture it in unique ways isn't far behind. Laren Woolley of Oregon Coast Pics and Colors of the West is fairly new to the area of Newport, moving there from Bend, Oregon in 2003. Laren loves the coast, and the beautiful scenery inspired Laren to take his interest in photography to the next level. Laren’s photography portfolio captures all aspects of the coast, from the smallest detail to magnificent landscapes. The light of early morning and the last rays of dusk are the magic times that he loves most.
Laren Woolley has won numerous awards (including several “People's Choice” awards) in various Pacific Northwest and local photographic competitions. Laren has his work displayed in local galleries and other local establishments and businesses. In addition, his work is displayed in numerous private homes throughout the United States and beyond.
Laren admires the photography from local artists and likewise finds it rewarding to have others appreciate his work. Laren began his serious journey into photography in Bend, Oregon by working with and being mentored by a good friend and fine art photographer there. His love for photography has only grown from there. Laren is a member of the Yaquina Arts Association Photographers. He enjoys association with the other members and is aided much by the organization. He is always looking to expand his knowledge base in photography and loves to develop and perfect new techniques. His portfolio of coastal fine art photography has expanded to include other scenic areas such as Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, and Mexico as opportunities to visit these wonderful places present themselves.
Laren Woolley is married to JerriLynn Woolley, to whom he owes a deep tribute for her avid support of his passion for photography. She has done much to help and encourage him on this path. Laren and JerriLynn have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren.
